Welcome Back!

Welcome back after a lovely summer holiday. Welcome particularly to our new children and their parents. 

I would like to inform you also of some staffing changes which will be occurring in the next few weeks.   Welcome back to Mr Bolton who is back safely from his world travels and will now be teaching in Year 3 with Mrs Dickinson remaining in Year 2.

Following Mrs Yelland’s retirement, Mrs Aherne will be teaching in Foundation Stage until she starts her maternity leave at the end of September. The class will then be taught by 

Miss Bellamy-Brown and we look forward to welcoming her to the team.   

You will be receiving a letter from your child’s class teacher with specific information for their class but below are some more general items.

Dinner Money

Attendance/ Lateness

Is still £8 per week.  Please pay on Mondays and in a named envelope

We are continuing to work with the Education Welfare Officer monitoring attendance. It is very important that your child is at school as much as possible and tries to be in school on time. If they are off for any reason you must let us know before 10am on the first day of absence.

Holidays

School term holidays are becoming more frowned upon nationally. The maximum amount of time I can authorise for any holidays is 10 days in the school year, any time over that will have to be recorded as unauthorised absence and the EWO informed.

After School Club

Water In School

The after school room has been decorated to the children’s designs during the holidays. For the club to work in the long term we need more children.  The club operates Monday to Friday and you can use it for one day or every day. A novel example from one parent was leaving the children one day per week while they go and do their shopping in peace!

All the children from Y1 upward can have a water bottle in class. These can be purchased from the office for 30p or you may provide your own (500ml sports cap please) Foundation stage children have their own cups

            Just to remind you that we provide drinks for the packed lunch children so you do not need to send a drink for dinner.

Fruit In School

Walking Bus

The infants will continue to receive free fruit for morning snack once the scheme re starts in a couple of days. We do still encourage the Junior children top bring in a piece of fruit for morning break if they want to.

The Walking Bus will be starting again on Monday 10 September and you should complete the  permission slip given below if your child will be walking to school with this group at any time during the term

It contains lots of high street shops including Marks and Spencers, Early Learning Centre, Thorntons chocolates and many more. If you buy something through our webshop then the retailers give us commission on whatever you buy! There is no extra cost to you, in fact you can often save money because of fabulous online discounts! All money raised through our webshop will be put towards our school fund which helps to pay for things like school trips and parties.
