Welcome back after what I hope was an enjoyable half term break and now prepare yourself for the busiest time of the year as we begin our preparations for the Christmas season.

Charity Events

• Many thanks for all your support for our two recent charity events - Macmillan Coffee Morning raised £150 with a similar amount raised by PFA for school and Jeans for Genes Day raised £106.
• Remembrance Day poppies are on sale in Y6 until 10 November – we collected a higher amount than any other Todmorden School last year so let’s see if we can keep the record.
• The children of the school council have asked that school recognises Children in Need Day on 17 November and so there will be a non-uniform day when everyone is invited to wear their most colourful clothes and bring a 50p donation for the charity.

School Events

• The PFA are holding a Christmas shop ( after school in the spare room ) for the next 3 Thursdays – please support them.  Our PFA is invaluable to the school due to the support they give to the pupils and staff. They raise funds for activities / goods which the school could not afford otherwise and funds which they donate to school help us to keep down the cost of school trips etc. More volunteers are urgently needed though so, if you are interested in joining them, please attend their next meeting on November 9^th at 6.00pm in the school hall. Everyone is welcome and you should not be put off by the word ‘meeting’ – we are very informal and friendly – we just need more help to share the work!

• The School Choir is now rehearsing for the Christmas Concert on Thursdays after school. If your child has been selected you will have been notified.

•  If you have not yet paid the balance of £5 for the Panto visit could you please do so by the end of this month please.

Other Items

• If children wish to change from school lunch to packed (or vice-versa) we must have 3 weeks notice.

• We now have a good stock of uniform items if you have been waiting to replenish your child’s wardrobe and are now also able to supply you with super, heavyweight, reversible school coats with logo for the very reasonable cost of £15. A sample is on display by the office which is where you should place your order.
