Log Books were a way of recording all the important events that happened in school. | |

May 1899 |
Disease was rife in the early part of the century. Whooping Cough and Chicken Pox were common in the young. One unfortunate young boy, William Jackson, lost his life at the age of 4 to Scarlatina.

A very early school inspection says,
'The new teacher has made a great improvement in the infant's instruction. The children are very attentive and answer in an intelligent manner'

Over two decades, only ten accidents were recorded in this book! |
|
Another inspection tells us,
'Some good work is observed in Class V'
and that the second class 'Teacher is underestimating the capacity of the children and is giving them too much assistance'. |
